Proyecto Embajador

The AMBASSADOR PROJECT describes a proposal by the Chilean Ambassador to France, Patricio Hales, in collaboration with Silpa Art, to arrange the loan of nine works by Chilean artists to the Chilean Embassy in France and the donation of seven additional works of art.

Silpa Art represents this group of artists, who have responded with their work to this and other initiatives representing Chilean culture. They are: Liza Marzolo, Sara Malinarich, Lourdes Navellan, María Elena Navellan, Rachael Runner, Gonzalo Sánchez (Pikti), Manuel Terán, Jasna Tomasevic, and Sebastián Yrarrázaval.
Their works, now on display at the Chilean Embassy in Paris, share space with the work of other essential Chilean artists such as Nemesio Antúnez, José Balmes, Gracia Barrios, and Rose Bru, among others. But even more essential is the atmosphere they share in the former residence of the poet Pablo Neruda, with its books, the piano, the dining room that reserves a chair for the French General Charles de Gaulle, the historical documents, the daily correspondence, and its rooms filled with conversations about history and the future. It is this same atmosphere of wonder that the Ambassador creates today to present a new repertoire of ideas and their representation.
